The U.S. Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggests scheduling a vaccination appointment at least one month before traveling internationally.
Yellow Fever Vaccines in Houston, Texas
Yellow fever vaccination services are available in Houston clinics and pharmacies. In addition, the YF-Vax® single-dose Yellow Fever vaccine is available. Hajj and Umrah - Several vaccinations are required to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Malaria - Two vaccines are available in Africa in 2024.
Measles - MMR, Proquad, and Priorix vaccines are available in the U.S. Measles outbreaks continue in the United States and worldwide in 2024.
Mpox - Jynneos vaccine and TPOXX oral treatment are U.S. FDA-authorized. The Houston Health Department offers free mpox vaccines.
Polio vaccines—The IPOL vaccine is advised for international travelers visiting at-risk countries. The nOPV2 polio vaccine is not available in the U.S.
Sexually Transmitted Diseases - Harris County Public Health highlights herpes, HIV, HPV, mpox, and other diseases.
Tuberculosis - Merck's Tice BCG vaccine is approved, but availability is limited in Houston, where TB cases have increased in 2024. Recent data indicate tuberculosis rates are accelerating in Houston,
