A recent survey revealed that the U.S. Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) premium airport screening service delivers measurable value to travelers.

TSA PreCheck® is a popular program that helps travelers mitigate security lines at hundreds of airports.

In October 2022, the TSA reported 91% of TSA PreCheck® passengers waited less than five minutes in the screening area.

To learn about the TSA PreCheck® service customer feedback, FinanceBuzz surveyed 1,500 people seeking real-world opinions.

The survey's key insights are as follows:

  • 92% of TSA PreCheck members say the cost of TSA PreCheck is worth its benefits.
  • 64% of those without TSA PreCheck are willing or planning to sign up for the program to reduce long lines for holiday travel.
  • On average, TSA PreCheck members say they experience shorter lines at the airport 65% of the time.

"This survey shows us that people who actually use the TSA PreCheck service absolutely love it and are more than happy with their subscription," said Josh Koebert on November 16, 2022.

"It's hard to get 92% of any group of people to agree on anything, so for that many people to say that a service they pay for is worth every penny and would still be worth paying for if the cost was three times higher shows just how useful these real-life users find the service."

And air passenger screening is one part of TSA's layered approach to delivering world-class security.

TSA Cares provides travelers with disabilities, medical conditions, and other circumstances additional assistance during the security screening process.

For example, travelers with disabilities or medical conditions and a traveling companion may consult a TSA officer about the best way to relieve any concerns during the screening process.

You may provide the officer with the TSA notification card or other medical documentation to describe your condition.

Please get in touch with TSA passenger support if you have further questions or concerns about traveling with a disability.

These extra services may be needed as the November holiday season approaches.

According to TSA checkpoint travel activity as of November 14, 2022, most airports are returned to pre-pandemic screening volume, averaging over 2 million people per day.

FinanceBuzz surveyed 1,500 U.S. adults on October 13, 2022. Questions about satisfaction with the TSA PreCheck program and its costs were only asked respondents that indicated they are currently enrolled in the TSA PreCheck program (22% of all respondents).
