Don Ward
Don Ward serves as the senior editor and publisher for the Precision Vax vaccine news network.
Don first entered the news industry in 1967, when he began selling the Philadelphia Bulletin after school in Ardmore, PA.
More recently, Don has been publishing digital health information for patients and healthcare providers since 1996, for eHealth companies such as drKoop.com, 1-800-Doctors, Mirixa, RxWiki, and Precision Vaccinations.
Don believes vaccine news articles should be based upon valid research since it is a fast growing, science-driven, market segment. Moreover, vaccine news should be written in a 'positive' voice, with a neutral industry 'tone', encouraging relevant patient-provider conversations.
Don’s focus on vaccines began with the completion of the Human Genome project in 2003, forecasting that this scientific breakthrough would be a catalyst for the personalized vaccine initiative.
PrecisionVax’s Mission Statement is “Empower doctors, nurses, and pharmacists with information to maximize each person's immunization, and reduce overall healthcare costs.”
Don has served on the advisory boards of the University of Texas College of Pharmacy, Texas eHealth, CMS Pharmacist eCare Plan, Immunization Information System, and the founding HIPAA work-group in 1995, as well as the initial digital pharma advertising council in 1989.
